Trabadela is near Trabada in the north of Galicia. It is about 30 minutes from Ribadeo and the nearest beaches. The property comprises a house and horreo (grain store) sitting in 45,000 square metres of land. The land is a mixture of meadow, orchard, woodland and a steep cliff, with a picturesque river running through it. There are 2 bridges. It would be perfect for someone looking to set up a self sufficient lifestyle in Northern Spain. Click here for satellite image.
The house had a new roof 2 years ago with internal wooden beams intended for show (cathedral style). The stone walls are also in good condition and once cleaned would look fantastic. The rest of the house needs complete restoration but this could be done for around €100,000. The 'horreo' is fairly unique in that it can be used as part of the house (bridge access). There is both electricity and water at the house.
The access is down a single track road and over a bridge. The bridge needs replacing but this is the responsibility of the local Council. The second bridge is also their responsibility as is the track leading down to the house. Both bridges could be a really attractive feature.
The river that runs through the property is idyllic and it has a small waterfall as well as a plunge pool for swimming. There are Trout in the river.
The house has 2 floors of around 90 square metres each. There is a bridge leading to the 'horreo'. The ground floor is where the animals used to be kept and here there are three rooms. Stairs lead to the first floor which was used as the living quarters. Here there is a kitchen, bathroom and large sitting room (leads to the 'horreo'). There are 2 additional rooms that were use as bedrooms. Outside, on the right hand side, there used to be a large wooden outdoor dining area. This could be reproduced and be a fantastic Summer area for sitting out and eating.
